MTV VMAJ 2013′ revealed

The performers for MTV’s music awards, ‘MTV VMAJ 2013 (MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2013), which will take place on June 22nd at Makuhari Messe, has been revealed.
This year, artists such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Momoiro Clover Z and Shounan no Kaze will perform. Kyary has been nominated for ‘Best Pop Video’ and ‘Best Karaokee! Song’, while Momoiro Clover Z has been nominated for ‘Best Choreography’.
The event will be hosted by Maeda Atsuko and Kaneko Nobuaki (RIZE). The awards will be presented by AK-69, Gouriki Ayame, etc.
More performers and presenters will be announced later.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is appearance in the coming of age day event

On January 14th, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu made a guest appearance in the coming of age day event, ’Shibuya-ku Seijin wo Iwau Kai‘, at Shibuya Kokaido.

Before the event, Kyary showed off her furisode (long-sleeved kimono) to the reporters. ”I aimed to be the most flashy new adult in Japan,” she said and explained her reason for choosing a unicorn print, “My world tour starts in February, so I wanted it to mean expanding my activities abroad.” Her furisode also featured images of planet, rockets, and great white sharks.

She seemed to be greatly satisfied with her outfit as she expressed, “It’s very special. I was impressed when I saw it finished.”

Kyary, who will be turning 20-years-old on the 29th, commented, “During get-togethers, I’m still underage, so I would go home first. I’m shy in front of strangers, I hope to borrow the power of alcohol and talk cheerfully to many people.” Since she loves ume (plum), she shared that her first alcoholic drink might be umeshu (ume liquor).

Finally, she stated, “As an artist, I want to do my best with my music activities in 2013.”

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 100% KPP WORLD TOUR 2013 is coming soon

On Tuesday, model and singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu announced during her concert at Nippon Budokan that she will be embarking on a world tour in 2013. The tour will take her to 11 shows in 9 countries in Europe, North America, and Asia, plus 9 shows in 5 cities in Japan.


She may have performed in the United States, China, and France, but this will be her first time doing a solo world tour.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s “World Live Tour 2013″ will begin on February 8 in Belgium, followed by a show on February 10 in France. The rest of her overseas concerts have not yet been announced, but the Japanese leg of the tour has already been scheduled:

Zepp Tokyo (March 25 & 26)
Zepp Namba (March 28 & 29)
Zepp Sapporo (March 31)
Zepp Nagoya (April 4 & 5)

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu released new first double - A side single kimi ni 100 percent

It’s been revealed that Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will be releasing her new single, “Kimi ni 100 Percent / Furisodeshon“, on January 30th.

Kyary’s 4th single will be her very first double A-side single. As reported earlier, “Kimi ni 100 Percent” is currently being used as the opening theme song for TV Asahi’s anime, ‘Crayon Shin-chan‘, since October. Meanwhile, “Furisodeshon” is a song that Nakata Yasutaka (capsule) wrote especially for Kyary, as she will be celebrating her 20th birthday on January 29th.

The concept of this single’s artwork is “Kyary Pamyu Pamyu as an adult”. Kyary is at a wedding in the limited edition cover and the regular edition cover will feature her as an actress.

The limited edition will come with a photo book including “parody of pregnant nude” and “Harajuku aunty 50 years later”. There will also be a special ‘Crayon Shin-chan’ version of the single.

To commemorate this single’s release, Kyary will hold a birthday event on January 28th.

"I have over 1,000,00 followers?!? AWESOOOME!!!!!" she tweeted in excitement after reaching this achievement.

In celebration of the milestone, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu wants to do something special for her fans who have helped her become a national icon.

"I want to do a free concert or something. I'll talk to the company president about it," she tweeted.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has been an active tweeter, creating her official twitter account on November 27th, 2010. She is one of the most followed Japanese celebrities on the social media service.
