℃-ute’s 20th single “Kono Machi” will be released on February 6th and the jacket covers along with new details have been revealed.
The title track is a cove of Moritaka Chisato’s song that was released back in 1991, and the producer Tsunku♂ said that the song was chosen to dedicate to the third anniversary of the death of people who passed away due to the 2011 Tohoku earthquake.
Though the original song is a dance sound, ℃-ute version was arranged to a medium ballad. Reportedly, they also changed some words and lyrics to match with the spring of 2013, while discussing with Moritaka. The follow-up songs that will be included in the single are also covers of Moritaka’s songs.
